HTML5

September 17th, 2010

HTML5 is certainly another evolution for the web, pushing boundries and allowing for more exciting and interactive website creations. HTML5 is still new and many of its offerings are not cross browser compatible. With the launch of IE9 however, planned early next year, we hope that we will be able to start developing some HTML5 and CSS3 websites soon.

A few cool features of HTML5 include:

  • Browser support for Video and Audio embedding
  • Interactive Canvas Gradients
  • File storage

As well as the above interactive features the way websites are written (the code) will be changing. This in turn will most certainly change the way search engines like Google crawl websites and list in their search engines.

With new and improved browsers like IE9, markup language like HTML5 and styling enhancements of CSS3 the way the websites look and interact will soon be changing for the better.

Microsoft release Explorer9 Beta

September 17th, 2010

First of all I will start by saying I have hated all previous versions of IE. They have been slow, cluttered and simply painfull to use in comparison to Firefox and Chrome.

Microsoft, at last, seem to be launching a decent browser with IE9. It has greatly improved speed, a cleaner and uncluttered user interface, and compared to its predecessors, a massive improvement. Although we have only been testing for a week, IE9 looks like it may be a worthy alternative from Firefox and Chrome.

With new HTML5, Javascript, SVG and CSS3 technologies being used, IE9 has come at the right time and supports a lot of features other browsers have yet to deliver.

You can find out more and download IE9 beta by visiting, www.beautyoftheweb.co.uk. It also showcases some websites that have been built using new HTML5 markup that IE9 support.
